Christmas is the season of giving and sharing. It is an annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. some popular traditions that people are traditionally doing are gift-giving, sending holiday cards to some of the relatives, Christmas tree decorating, singing some Christmas carols, and feast and church celebrations. Also Christmas is the most awaited season by some of the students, it’s because of the Christmas break in which almost a whole month of vacation is observe. No home works, no projects and of course NO CLASS!
One of the Christmas tradition that me and my mother is practicing is completing the Misa De Galyo masses which is the 9 morning masses before Christmas. Every December that is both of me and my mother’s achievement we are not doing that because of the somehow belief that if you completed the 9 morning masses your wish would come true, we are doing that to remember that one man is coming to save us from all of our sins and that one man is no other that Jesus Christ.
Christmas is also a time where families gather, spend time together in ways of having vacation in other places whether it would be an out of the country or out of town kind of vacation. As for me, me and my family spend the Christmas in Cebu City. We went to Simala where lots of Mother Mary statues was placed and showed to people who comes to visit the place.
December is not just about the spirit of Christmas some couples chose the month of December for their hearts to collide. One of our family member was married last December 22, 2018 that was two days before Christmas. For me the event that I witnessed was really a magical event for both of them they both worked hard just to get the type of wedding that they wanted.
Christmas may pass by but that doesn’t mean that you’ll stop the sharing and the giving. Christmas is a new beginning for us to share and give what we have to those who are in need.
